Our team recently completed a significant infrastructure project that enhances the electrical connectivity between the Ausgrid Zone and the Metro Tunnel. This project involved the installation of high-capacity cables and advanced termination systems, ensuring reliable power delivery.
We installed twelve 33kV cables, each with a 400 square millimeter copper conductor and insulated with cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE). These cables are equipped with state-of-the-art Tyco heat shrink joints, providing robust and durable connections.
The project also included four 33kV terminations using NKT CPI S3 technology. These terminations are designed to handle high electrical loads efficiently, ensuring seamless integration into the existing network.
To guarantee optimal performance and safety, we conducted thorough testing and commissioning of all four feeders. This rigorous process ensures that the system operates at peak efficiency, meeting all regulatory and safety standards.
